Austin has been working at the intersection of technology and society for over 15 years and co-founded The Hmm, an experimental research platform for internet cultures.
With over 30 years of experience in finance and international telecommunications, Demos is a seasoned leader driving the success of Wingu Africa Group. His expertise spans corporate finance, operational management, and data center development, underpinned by a strong technical foundation.
After earning a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from King’s College London, Demos pursued an MBA in Finance at Imperial College London, equipping him with the strategic and financial expertise to lead high-impact projects. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in deregulating markets across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, directly overseeing the financing of multimillion-dollar IT and Internet infrastructure initiatives.
His ability to navigate complex financial landscapes, optimise operations, and lead high-performing teams has made him a key force in Wingu Africa Group’s expansion and success.
Peter van Burgel is the CEO of AMS-IX, one of the largest Internet exchange points in the world and a vital hub of the Dutch digital infrastructure. Under his leadership, AMS-IX has successfully navigated the many challenges of the Internet, driving towards the next generation while fostering an ecosystem where everyone benefits from a safer, faster and more connected society.
